Georgetown is a small town with a real center, clustered around Pentucket Pond with the Memorial Town Hall and the First Congregational spire over it. The Georgetown-Rowley State Forest sits to the south, Crane Pond Wildlife Management Area to the north, and I-95 crosses the eastern half with a single exit at Route 133. Erie 4 is the oldest privately owned volunteer fire company in America, which is the kind of thing people here know.

East and West Main Street form the historic spine, with the older houses set close along it. Out toward Jewett Street and the forest edges, lots open up.

Whether you're clearing a garage off Jewett Street, gutting a kitchen near the center, or emptying a barn out past Nunan's greenhouses on Central Street, Dumpster Dogs is the crew Georgetown calls.

A local crew, not a call center — and we'd rather earn the next job than pad this one.

Georgetown Doesn't Have Town Trash Pickup

The town's own answer is direct: Georgetown does not have public curbside pickup. Homeowners must privately contact a service provider. And the transfer station is run by a private contractor, not the town.

That station moved to a new Carleton Drive site in early 2026 — worth knowing, because plenty of directory listings still carry the old address. It's open to residents and non-residents alike, no sticker, and priced per item.

Trash by the bag. Then the bulk list: a couch or chair $40, a sleeper sofa $60, a mattress or box spring $75, metal appliances $30, carpet $20 per four-foot roll, tires $15 to $75.

It takes most solid waste — but not fluorescent bulbs, liquids, motor oil, brush, shrubbery, concrete, red brick, boats or campers.

Two mattresses is $150 before you touch a stick of furniture.

Dumpster Rental in Georgetown, MA

Out toward Jewett Street, the state forest edges and the Crane Pond side, lots are open with real driveways and room for a full-size container. The tight work is the historic center along East and West Main Street.

Renovation & Demolition Debris — Georgetown

The station takes most solid waste but not concrete or brick, and everything is priced per load and per item. For a kitchen, a bathroom, a roof or a barn teardown, one container is simpler and cheaper.

Barn, Garage and Estate Cleanouts in Georgetown

Georgetown's outer properties come with barns and outbuildings, and they accumulate. Estate work, barns, garages, attics and cellars, and downsizing moves at your pace.

Georgetown Has No Public Curbside Pickup

The town says it plainly on its own FAQ page: Georgetown does not have public curbside pick-up, and homeowners must privately contact a service provider. There is no town collection day to hold a cleanout for.

The transfer station on Carleton Drive is open to residents, non-residents and commercial customers, which is unusual for the area — but the fee list is real money on a cleanout. A couch or chair is $40, a sleeper sofa $60, a mattress or box spring $75, carpet $20 per four-foot roll, metal appliances $30 each.

It also refuses concrete and red brick outright, along with fluorescent bulbs, liquids and hazardous material, motor oil, brush and shrubbery. That's the one that catches renovation projects — masonry demo has to go somewhere else entirely, and a chimney or a patio adds up fast.

Georgetown's housing stock runs deep. The Dickinson-Pillsbury-Witham House on Jewett Street dates to around 1690 and is described as the least altered First Period house in town, and the tree-lined stretches of Elm, Maple, Winter and Brook are lined with 19th-century clapboard houses. Old houses mean full attics, full cellars and renovation debris that doesn't fit the town's list. One truck, one trip, and you're not paying $75 a mattress at the gate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Georgetown pick up trash at the curb?

No. The town has no public curbside collection — every household hires privately. The transfer station is privately run and priced per item.

What does the transfer station charge?

By the bag for trash, per item for bulk — around $40 a couch, $60 a sleeper sofa, $75 a mattress. It also won't take concrete, red brick or brush.

How big a dumpster should I order for a Georgetown job?

Out toward Jewett Street and the forest edges, a large roll-off is straightforward. The Main Street center is tighter.

Fantastic communication. Excellent work and results spoke for themselves. Decades of junk gone in hours. We waited years to call these guys and they took care of everything super easy and efficient. Will use them again and again. These guys are the best!

Amy O'Neill

Everything about Dumpster Dogs was awesome and so smooth! From getting a quote, to coordinating drop off and pick up, the communication was easy, fast and clear. In addition to the quote being one of the lowest we got (and we got a lot) to the rental time being on the longer end, everything was great! Braeden was so easy to chat with via phone and text and was flexible with planning and coordination. I can't recommend them enough for your dumpster needs.

Paul Connolly

The fastest reply I have seen in a very long time when requesting service. Very flexible on delivery and pickup. Just plain good service, hungry for your business. Dumpster Dogs will be my go to in future.

Jay Wallace

These guys were amazing, professional, and very fast. I would recommend them any day of the week. They literally cleaned my basement out in an hour and a half and fill a dumpster

Timothy Corrigan

Fom start to finish, these guys were professional, fast, and reliable. I reached out and got a quick response, a fair quote, and they showed up exactly when they said they would—which alone sets them apart. They handled everything effortlessly, from heavy junk to awkward items, and left the space cleaner than I expected. Super friendly, no hassle, no upselling, just honest hard work. I’ll definitely be using Dumpster Dogs again and recommending them to anyone who needs a clean-out done right.
