Rye is mostly water — nearly two-thirds of its area, counting four of the Isles of Shoals. What's left on land is one of the best stretches of coast in the state: Ocean Boulevard running past Jenness and Wallis Sands, Rye Harbor in the middle, Odiorne Point at the north end, and Awcomin Marsh behind it. Inland, Central Road, Washington Road and Wallis Road run through wooded acreage and large-lot colonials. No commercial strip anywhere.

Whether you're clearing an oceanfront place on 1A near Petey's, emptying a house off Washington Road, or cleaning out a garage up toward Odiorne Point, Dumpster Dogs is the crew Rye calls.

Small local crew, and we time coastal deliveries around the summer traffic.

Rye-Origin Only, and Three Cubic Yards of Brush a Week

Rye's transfer station sits at Grove and Washington Roads and it's run tightly. A permit is required and has to be displayed on the driver's side front bumper. The station is open Tuesday through Saturday, but the brush section only runs Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The rule that catches people: only municipal solid waste originating in the Town of Rye may be deposited. Nothing hauled in from a property somewhere else, no matter who's driving.

Brush is capped at three cubic yards per week per resident, nothing over four feet, and the brush area rejects mattresses, box springs, metals, waste oil, tires, plastic bags and stumps. Tires have to be off the rim and only in car and pickup sizes. Electronics and appliances each carry fees, with a higher minimum for anything containing CFCs. And the station isn't licensed to accept household hazardous waste at all.

Three cubic yards is a hedge trim. It's not a renovation, and it's not a barn.

Dumpster Rental in Rye, NH

Most of Rye is excellent for roll-offs. Inland properties off Washington, Central and Wallis Roads have wide, deep driveways and real staging room, and the larger coastal lots generally do too.

The exception is the oceanfront strip along 1A, where lots can be narrow, street parking is limited, and summer traffic makes placement a timing question rather than a space question.

Renovation & Demolition Debris — Rye

The transfer station's rules are built for household waste, not a project. Remodel demo, flooring, roofing, deck rebuilds, sheds and small structures — one container, no cubic-yard cap, no origin paperwork.

Estate Cleanouts and Seasonal Clearouts

Rye has a real second-home and summer-rental segment alongside its year-round owners, so the work splits two ways: shoulder-season clearouts on the rental side, estate and downsizing work on the other. Attic, basement, garage and boathouse clearouts included.

Rye Only Accepts Rye-Generated Waste

Rye's ordinance is explicit: only municipal solid waste originating in the Town of Rye may be deposited at the town's facilities. A permit is tied to a current Rye vehicle registration or tax bill, and even a contractor working in town needs a separate $150 annual permit to bring anything to the Recycling Center on Grove Road.

The fee schedule adds up quickly on a real job. Construction debris and asphalt shingles are priced by the load — $75 for a small pickup, $90 for a large one, $100 for a one-ton truck. Mattresses and box springs are $15 each. A large couch is $25, a recliner $10. Freon appliances run $20, non-freon $10, and electronics are charged by weight at 45 cents a pound.

The town also defines demolition broadly. Painted, stained and pressure-treated wood all count as debris, which catches people mid-renovation who assumed lumber was lumber.

A lot of Rye is seasonal — roughly one in six housing units is a summer or vacation property — so we see a rhythm here: cottages opened in spring and cleared in fall, estate work between tenants, and renovation debris from projects squeezed into the shoulder season. One truck handles what would otherwise be several permitted trips.

Why Rye Calls Us

Three cubic yards a week is a hedge. We take the whole property.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring debris from another town to the Rye transfer station?

No. Only waste originating in Rye may be deposited — that's written into the town's ordinance.

How much brush can I bring?

Three cubic yards a week, nothing over four feet, and only Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Which container size fits a Rye driveway?

Inland and on the larger coastal lots, a full-size roll-off is straightforward. Right on 1A it can be tighter and summer timing matters.

Do you serve towns near Rye?

Yes — Portsmouth, Greenland, North Hampton, Newington and Hampton.

Amy O'Neill

Everything about Dumpster Dogs was awesome and so smooth! From getting a quote, to coordinating drop off and pick up, the communication was easy, fast and clear. In addition to the quote being one of the lowest we got (and we got a lot) to the rental time being on the longer end, everything was great! Braeden was so easy to chat with via phone and text and was flexible with planning and coordination. I can't recommend them enough for your dumpster needs.

Paul Connolly

Timothy Corrigan

Fom start to finish, these guys were professional, fast, and reliable. I reached out and got a quick response, a fair quote, and they showed up exactly when they said they would—which alone sets them apart. They handled everything effortlessly, from heavy junk to awkward items, and left the space cleaner than I expected. Super friendly, no hassle, no upselling, just honest hard work. I’ll definitely be using Dumpster Dogs again and recommending them to anyone who needs a clean-out done right.
